Wart  Remover

Warts (verrucas) are small outgrowths that develop on the skin. They look like the bud of cauliflower. Contrary to popular belief, verrucas can be easily treated.

There are many popular believes surrounding verrucas, which are completely untrue. Some of these half-truths are so ridiculous, that it is an utter mystery, why they have persisted for so long.

The natural assumption that, all myths should’ve been dispelled; given that, we are living in the information age, is quite fallacious. Conventional wisdom would have you believe that more information provides more clarity.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Information overload only creates confusion. And that is exactly what we have today.

Worse yet, the internet has accentuated the abundance of information. This is rather disturbing given the track record of the internet, especially its reputation for separating truths from falsehoods.

Popular Myths of Warts

Some of these myths are so outrageous; they will have you laughing in a jiffy. While laughing, just make sure you can hitherto distinguish fact from myth.

Myth: Verrucas are caused by toads.

Fact: This is perhaps the most outlandish of the myths. Toads do not cause verrucas. The human papilloma virus (HPV) causes verrucas.

This myth is very popular in infants and children.

There is a theory that, the myth was probably disseminated by some parents, seeking to prevent their kids from playing with toads.

Myth: Verrucas have malignant roots that penetrate deep into the skin.

Fact: Verrucas do not have any roots. The depth of verrucas never reaches the dermis (inner layer of skin). Verrucas develop just below the surface of the squamous epithelium.

The squamous epithelium is the outermost layer of the skin. It can be composed of a single layer or multiple layers of scale-like cells.

When it is composed of a single layer of cells, it is called simple squamous epithelium. When it is composed of multiple layers of cells, it is called stratified squamous epithelium.

Myth: Verrucas are not contagious.

Fact: You’d better believe that verrucas count among the most contagious skin conditions on the planet. Generally, they are transmitted by skin-to-skin contact.

They even have a hereditary component. That means, if your mother had it, you are more likely to develop it.

It gets scarier. You do not really have to come into contact with another person, in order to contract the HPV. These little schmucks are ubiquitous. You can get them, when you touch door knobs in public.

You can get them from the support bars in the trains, buses, trams, etc. If you share clothes, shoes or towels with someone who is infected, you are likely to contract the skin condition.

Plantar wart is a type of verruca, which develops in the ball of the feet. If a person is infected with this variant, he will spread it all over the floor in public locker rooms and swimming pool floors.

Periungual wart tends to occur in the fingernails.

If you share your keyboard or mobile phone with an infected person, well, guess what?

You’ll probably get infected too.

HPVs are one hell of some really pervasive bastards.

Genital wart (verruca acuminata) is the most infamous of verrucas.

You can contract this even during foreplay.

As a matter of fact, you can contract it, just by kissing. No kidding!

Oral wart is a thread-like outgrowth that can develop on the lips, tongue, gums and throat. Generally, oral wart originates from oral sex. Thanks to out-of-control debauchery, the prevalence of oral wart has exploded.

Myth: Verrucas are cancerous.

Fact: Verrucas are not cancerous but they can lead to cancer. High-risk HPV type 16, 18, 31, 35, 39, 45, 52, 58 and 59 can cause genital dysplasia and cervical cancer. In addition, they can cause vulvar, vaginal, penile and anal cancer.

Verruca acuminata has another dastardly angle. They can prove to be extremely itchy, thus forcing you to scratch. Repeated scratching will probably lead to bruises and abrasions accompanied by bleeding.

These bruises and abrasions provide the opportunity for more serious infections such as HIV aids and HSV (herpes) to penetrate into your body.

Myth: You can always diagnose verrucas.

Fact: No, you cannot always diagnose verrucas because they have extremely long incubation intervals.  The incubation interval is the period between the infection and the display of symptoms.

For example, a person infected with verruca acuminata today might only display the symptoms 1 full year later. This little fact is of humongous distraught because lots of people nowadays have several sexual partners.

An infected person can unknowingly cause huge damage during the 12month period.

Myth: You cannot do anything to prevent yourself from getting infected.

Fact: About 70% of verrucas can be prevented by the HPV vaccine, Gardasil. It pays to get vaccinated.

Wart Treatment

Doctors treat verrucas using surgical techniques such as laser therapy, cryotherapy, electrodesiccation, surgical curettage and infrared coagulation.

Surgical techniques such as laser therapy have proven quite effective; however, they have certain drawbacks.

Laser surgery is often accused of being painful and leaving scars.

Infrared coagulation is less expensive than laser therapy but it is notorious for burning and blistering pain.

Electrodessication (electrocautery or electrosurgery) involves the use of heat, generated by an electric current to destroy the tissues of the lump.

Electrodessication works but some patients have raised concerns over the toxicity of the smoke, produced by the high frequency electrodes.

Wartrol is a topical cream that provides risk-free treatment. The potent wartrol formula is made from organic ingredients and the powerful active agent, salicylic acid.

Salicylic acid kills the HPVs responsible for causing the lump. The Aloe Vera and Walgreens in the wartrol formula will quickly repair and revitalize your skin.
